2) Calling Performing Artists to Perform in the Kentucky Experience Pavilion
The Kentucky Arts Council is soliciting applications from Kentucky performing artists to take to the Kentucky Experience Pavilion Performance Stage during the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games from Sept. 25 - Oct. 10, 2010.
Applications are being accepted until Dec. 15, 2009 from professional artists and community or school groups in all genres. Kentucky professional artists, including individual artists, companies or groups in dance, theatre, music, storytelling or other performing disciplines may apply.

4) ColorFall is Color History
Thanks to all the foliage spotters and others who helped create the 2009 ColorFall. Reports add a lot of action to the information and we appreciate the new photos submitted by many of you. If you have additional high-res digital shots of destinations and attractions amidst '09 fall color, email or mail cds for addition to our image library. The leaves are barely off the trees but now's the time to plan romantic deals and getawasys for Valentines Day. This year February 14 falls on a Sunday so make it a weekend! 8) Native American Heritage Month
Gov. Steve Beshear has declared November as "Native American Heritage Month." The proclamation marks the month as a time to reflect on Native American contributions to Kentucky history. Governor Beshear says in his proclamation that Native Americans have "made significant contributions to Kentucky's rich cultural heritage." He says this heritage "enriches the lives of all Kentuckians and is worth preserving."
9) Media Lead - DIY Patios - 2nd Request
Wanted: DIY-ers who have recently built a new home patio using pavers, brick, creek rock, green recycled materials; such as, concrete or unique mixtures of several composite materials for Kentucky Living Magazine's March Lawn and Garden issue. DIY-er must live in a county served by the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives, www.kaec.org/coops/default.htm. The photo shoot needs to be scheduled ASAP! 10) Media Lead - Kwanzaa Celebrants - 2nd Request
Writer Kathy Witt wants to interview families who celebrate Kwanzaa for a feature article about this celebration for the December 2010 issue of Kentucky Living Magazine. Photos need to be shot this year. Families must reside in counties served by the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives, www.kaec.org/coops/default.htm. Kentucky Living Magazine is doing a 2010 feature on "Families that Give Rather Than Receive" about families that spend their holidays working in a shelter. Photos of families working over Christmas will be shot in December 2009. 13) U.S. Small Business Administration, Kentucky District, Seeks Nominations
Tourism is primarily made up of small businesses. Nominate or be nominated for the U.S. Small Business administration's Kentucky Small Business Person of the Year. This is one of several awards given at the state level. Other awards include Small Business Champion awards for home-based businesses and minority businesses.
Nominations must be to the SBA Kentucky district office no later than Nov. 20. For information, call 502-582-5971 or email jeri.grant@sba.gov.

Stay abreast as Kentucky prepares to welcome the world in 2010.
